Polishing things up

June 4th, 2008

I took some time to go back and polish up Walter so that he’s in a more “finished” state. I always see things i could do more with, but at least now he’s not just a crop of a full body. There are a few more Zbrush renders in the Walter Gallery, so check em out.

Afro Samurai - Again

April 8th, 2008

I haven’t been posting, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working. Afro’s been an ongoing character and a guinea pig of sorts for techniques. Since I last posted about him I’ve been able to give a few new plugins from zbrush a whirl and have thoroughly enjoyed each. I posed him using the Transpose Master Tool from zbrush, and separated up his clothing and pieces using the Subtools Master plugin. I’m currently trying to decide whether I want to start texturing him or move on to something else. Maybe both.

keep working

February 12th, 2008

I’ve been reworking my afro base for two reasons.

  1. I didn’t really like the way it ended up, and would like to actually finish it to the point where i do. This will hopefully include a fully posed, textured, accessorized and rendered model.
  2. I can always use the extra anatomy practice.

Check it out in my WIP section

Walter Sobchak

February 4th, 2008

Ok… I’m sorry. I haven’t been keeping this site updated with the things I’ve been working on as much as I’ve wanted, or said I would. But that’s all going to change, you know, New Year’s resolutions and all. I’m going to knock out some models, and put together an updated reel adding the things I’ve been working on the past few months. Here’s a new model to kick things off. It’s my tribute to John Goodman as Walter Sobchak from the Big Lebowski (quite possibly one of the greatest films ever).

I’m back to working on Afro Samurai and trying to get him to a point I consider finished. I’ll post some WIPs of him soon enough.
